RUOK? DAY AT OUR COLLEGE: SPREADING KINDNESS & CONNECTION

Yesterday, our school community came together to celebrate RUOK? Day - a powerful reminder that a simple check-in can make a world of difference.

To mark the occasion, our students were invited to write a positive note or words of affirmation in exchange for a sweet treat. After all, a delicious cupcake always brings a smile to someone’s face!

These thoughtful messages of encouragement and wisdom were displayed amongst the trees near the Catherine McAuley monument and across the windows of our Student Services Hub in Beta Block. Now, students can pause, read through their peers' inspiring words, and draw strength or advice whenever they need a little boost.

A Small Conversation Can Change a Life - While RUOK? Day gives us a special moment to focus on mental health, checking in on those around us isn't just an annual event as RUOK? day is every day. Whether it’s a classmate sitting next to you, a friend in the school yard, or a work colleague, taking a moment to ask "Are you OK?" and genuinely listening can be the baseline of support someone needs.

Let’s keep these meaningful conversations going all year round. Who will you check in on today?

EXPLORING THE BRAIN

Year 10 Health and Psychology students recently took part in a sheep brain dissection, giving them a hands-on look at key structures including the brain stem, grey matter, and the "tree of life" within the cerebellum.

This engaging lesson sparked plenty of curiosity, discussion, and a deeper understanding of how the brain works.
